The C/SIS Women of the ELCA’s Northeast Conference will hold its spring gathering on Saturday, April 6 at 9:30 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, Chenoa.

The Central/Southern Illinois Women of the ELCA’s Northern Conference will gather on Saturday, September 9, at First English Lutheran Church in Peoria.

The C/SIS Women of the ELCA’s Northeast Conference will hold its spring gathering on Saturday, April 1 at 9:30 AM (registration starts at 9:00 AM). The cost is $10 per person and includes lunch. The monetary offering will be divided between the Central/Southern Illinois Synod and Lutheran World Relief, and a physical offering of Hamburger Helper will be given to the Fairbury Community Food Pantry.
We will have an election and honor Donna Schuler for her service as our president since 2011.
Please let all the women of your congregation know they are part of the Women of th ELCA, even if your group isn’t actively participating right now. This is an important meeting for our Northeast Conference Women, so please come if you are able!
The Central/Southern Illinois Synod Women of the ELCA’s biennial convention will be held on September 9-10 at Grace Lutheran Church in Springfield.

The Women of the ELCA in the Northwest Conference of the Central/Southern Illinois Synod will gather for its annual assembly on Saturday, June 18th, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Coatsville. The theme is “Forged in Fire.”
The Board of the Central/Southern Illinois Synod Women of the ELCA met on October 8, 2021 and voted to reschedule our Oct. 22-23, 2021 Biennial Convention to the spring of 2022. We were looking forward to seeing everyone, but unfortunately due to Covid concerns and low participation, our Biennial Convention will be postponed. The C/SIS Fall Gathering has been changed to a virtual gathering on October 3 . It will be uploaded to the Grace Lutheran Church, Springfield YouTube Channel. We will be having drawings for WELCA items and will be asking for a short 1-minute video of your WELCA Circle. The Northwest Conference will be held at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Arenziville with registration beginning at 9:15 a.m.
The Northeast Conference is being held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 100 W Cherry Street, Fairbury. Registration 9-9:30 a.m., meeting and program until about noon with lunch included. The speaker will be from Livingston County Military Museum in Pontiac.
Friday:
We will meet at St. Matthew Lutheran Church at 2200 Philo Road, Urbana. Registration starts at 3:30 with the retreat beginning at 4:00 pm. Tracy Barkly will lead a tour of the Sola Gratia Farms for those who are able. She will share how they are helping to feed a multitude using good stewardship of the land. After dinner, we will learn a few simple Tai Chi exercises for balance and fall prevention.
Saturday:
Registration is at Grace Lutheran Church on 313 S Prospect Street in Champaign at 9:30 am. A light breakfast will precede the retreat at 10:00am. Pastor Maggie Falenscheck from St. Matthew Lutheran Church will lead us in Bible study. Rachel Bass-Guennewig will instruct us in easy yoga. We will be transported to Tanzania by Rose Moser to learn about fair trade coffee.
Registration is only $10 for 1 day on Friday or Saturday, or $20 for both days. Our service project will be school kits for Lutheran World Relief. We are offering 6 scholarships, covering the meeting cost of $20 and $60 of your hotel expense, for first time attendees. These will be awarded on a first come-first serve basis. This Deadline is Oct 1.
